Proper Repairs
Due to the distinctiveness of YD anti-cut material, only the outer fabric of protective products can be repaired.
When the protective product is only damaged by the outer material (the inner fabric is intact), it must be repaired immediately. Failure to do so may damage the intact inner fabric layer and reduce the protective properties of the product.
Protective products can only stitch the outer layer when repairing. The needle and thread should never go through the inner fabric layer as this will reduce the protective effect of the fabric layer in case of an accident.
Wrong Repairs
Do not attempt to mend, modify or sew the inner fabric. Any changes to the inner fabric will affect or destroy the protection.
We are not responsible for any accidents caused by this.
We do not recommend using adhesives on protective products due to the high risk.
With adhesive patching, the glue may seep into the inner fabric layers. The inner fabric may be stiffened after the glue is applied and make it impossible to wrap around the chainsaw. The inner fabric is there to stop the chainsaw from turning, and if they are held in place with glue, the chainsaw will cut through the inner fabric, leaving it unprotected.
